Bachelor of Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lisbon (1988).
Residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Cascais Hospital (1991–1998); awarded the title of Specialist in 1998.
In 2000, she began working in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Prof. Dr. Fernando Fonseca Hospital, where she pursued a hospital career for 18 years, obtaining the title of Consultant in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2005. She served as Coordinator of the Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, and LASER Unit and of the Gynecology Residency Program / Training Center.
In 2018, she opened CUF Sintra Hospital, where she served as Coordinator of the Cervix, Vagina, and Vulva Unit and of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, as well as Clinical Director.
She has received advanced training in laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including at IRCAD (Strasbourg).
She holds national and international certifications in colposcopy, including from the Spanish Association of Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy and the Portuguese Society of Colposcopy and Pathology of the Lower Genital Tract (SPCPTGI).
President of the SPCPTGI and member of the executive committee of the European Federation of Colposcopy (EFC) and the International Federation of Colposcopy (IFCPC), where she currently serves on the Training and Education Committee.
Organizer and instructor of EFC-certified colposcopy courses since 2012.
Co-author of National Consensus Statements on HPV infection and intraepithelial lesions of the cervix, vagina, and vulva.
Author of the book *Colposcopy: From Practice to Theory* (LIDEL, 2014).
Approximately one hundred scientific papers published or presented at national and international medical conferences.
Five award-winning papers, including the First Prize from the Portuguese Society of Gynecology.
