We were the first private hospital in northern Portugal to be accredited by the Joint Commission International, an independent entity which accredits health institutions and whose assessment processes included more than 1200 parameters tied to quality and safety.
It was however through its human resources that Hospital Lusíadas Porto was able to distinguish itself, becoming a point of reference in areas such as Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Urology, Molecular Medicine, and Plastic Surgery.

Located in the heart of Porto, Hospital Lusíadas Porto is a point of reference for private health care, focusing on the most advanced technologies, on humanization of services, and on close relationships with patients.
It was the first private hospital in northern Portugal to obtain the prestigious seal of quality from the Joint Commission International (JCI), a distinction which highlights its innovation and differentiation relative to the safety of processes and procedures for patients.
With attribution of the Joint Commission International accreditation in 2012, Hospital Lusíadas Porto materialized a culture which rests on quality and safety through international best practices in the following areas: clinical protocol, monitoring, internal indicator control, investment in human capital, and continued improvement to overall performance of hospital.
The process of international accreditation involved the entire team at Hospital Lusíadas Porto and was conducted by international experts following a list of approximately 1200 requirements, encompassing international patient safety goals and clinical and non-clinical standards, namely for functions related to management and organization of the hospital.
This process culminated with attribution of the rigorous JCI seal, representing international validation of the quality and safety of care provision.
