Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto - FMP (1972).
Assistant Professor of Histology and Embryology at FMP (1972 - 1974).
Internship in Neurology at the Hospital de S. João, completed in 1980.
From 1983, differentiation in Clinical Neurophysiology, in the NFC Service of the Hospital Santo António where he remains as Hospital Assistant, moving to the Neurology Service of the Military Hospital (Porto), where he founded the Laboratory of Neurophysiology and remains as Neurologist and Neurophysiologist until 2017 (date of retirement).
Direction of the Laboratory "Neurofisio" since 1990.
